Privacy Policy

Salon Les Frères is a barbershop located at 434 Cartier Boulevard West, Laval, Quebec H7N 2L4, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information we collect, in accordance with Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25.

We only collect the information we need. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

• Contact details: name, email address and phone number.
• Bookings: selected service, barber, appointment date and time, and preferred language.
• Google Ads lead forms: the information you choose to send us through the form (for example, name, email, phone number and answers to the questions asked).
• Communications: the content of emails, messages or calls you send us.
• Technical information: see the “Cookies and website technologies” section.

When you apply for a barber position (through our Careers page or a Google Ads form), we may collect:

• Your name, email address and phone number;
• Your years of experience as a barber;
• Your resume (optional) and the information it contains (experience, training, references, etc.);
• Any other information you choose to share with us, for example during an interview or by email.

Please do not send us information that is not relevant to assessing your application (for example, your social insurance number, health or banking information).

We use your information to:

• Communicate with you and respond to your requests and questions;
• Process job applications: review your profile, contact you and schedule interviews;
• Manage your appointments: confirmations, reminders, changes or cancellations;
• Operate, secure and improve our website (for example, to prevent abuse and spam);
• Comply with our legal obligations.

We only use your information for the purposes for which it was collected, or for other purposes permitted by law or to which you have consented. We do not sell your personal information.

By sending us your information (for example, by filling out a form), you consent to its use for the purposes described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see “Withdrawing consent”).

Our website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or a Google Ads tracking tag). The only technologies used are:

• Language preference: your language choice (French or English) is saved in your browser (local storage). It is only used to display the website in the right language.
• Blog statistics: when you read an article, we record general statistics (country, device type, browser, referring website, reading time and scroll depth). No cookies are used and these statistics are not used to identify you; a temporary technical identifier, generated irreversibly and renewed every day, is only used to avoid counting the same visit more than once.
• Security: your IP address may be used temporarily to limit the number of form submissions and prevent abuse.

If we add analytics or advertising tools that use cookies, we will update this policy and, where required by law, these tools will be turned off by default until you consent.

We use service providers that may process certain information on our behalf or when you use their services:

• Google and Google Ads: when you fill out a lead form in a Google Ads advertisement, Google collects the information entered and sends it to us. Google may also process data when you interact with its ads or with the Google Maps map embedded on our Contact page, in accordance with its own privacy policy.
• YouTube (Google): some blog articles may include YouTube videos embedded in privacy-enhanced mode.
• Instagram (Meta): photos from our Instagram feed displayed on the website may be loaded from Meta’s servers.
• Hosting and database: our website is hosted by Vercel and our data is stored with Supabase.
• Email: an email provider allows us to send confirmations and receive job applications.

These providers only have access to the information they need to deliver their services. Some are located outside Quebec, including in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed there. Before communicating information outside Quebec, we make sure it will receive adequate protection.

We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law.

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the entire website;
• Access limited to the people who need it to perform their duties;
• Password-protected administration area;
• Anti-abuse and anti-spam measures on our forms.

No method is completely secure. In the event of a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury, we will notify the affected individuals and the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, as required by law.

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or to meet our legal obligations. For example, job application information is kept for the duration of the hiring process and, if needed, for a reasonable period so we can consider your profile for a future position. When it is no longer needed, it is securely destroyed or anonymized.

Under the law, you may:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you;
• Request the correction of information that is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
• Withdraw your consent;
• Ask us to stop disseminating your information or to delete it, where permitted by law;
• Request a copy of your information in a structured, commonly used technological format (portability).

To make an access or correction request, write to the persons in charge of the protection of personal information (contact details below), including your name, contact information and the purpose of your request. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will respond in writing within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us, for example to withdraw your job application or ask us to stop contacting you. Withdrawing consent may prevent us from processing your application or request, but does not affect what has already been done. You can also manage your Google ad preferences in My Ad Center.
